2nd pick: #10 (Queen Shelly Ann) (7-2) - Filly has early speed but has lost considerable ground during the stretch run in all four attempts. However, she races 2nd off a Peter Miller claim and her ability to run a :45 and change 1/2 mile makes her a win candidate on the front end.
3rd pick: #2 (Venice) (8-1) - I like her at Los Alamitos Sep 22 but she had a very wide trip when losing by 4 lengths at this tag and trip. It was her first start in 6 months and she may have needed it for conditioning purposes. It's noted that her best ever came on a wet track here March 3.
