2nd pick: #1 (Drink) (9-5) - He rallied to finish 2nd, a half-length better than 'Nice Work' here going 6.5 furlongs at this $50K claiming price Jan. 10. Only his 2nd start, it was his first in blinkers, and this son of 'Stay Thirsty' is an obvious threat.
3rd pick: #6 (Popcorn for Eddie) (12-1) - A son of 'Candy Ride,' he's one of three making their debuts, and this colt has been in steady training here since early November. His trainer (Shelbe Ruis) has been idle for a couple of years, but had a lot of success before letting father Mick take over the operation.
4th pick: #4 (Gran Martillo) (5-1) - He made up some ground late while finishing behind both 'Drink' and 'Nice Work' last out. This gelding has taken some betting action in both starts and runs today with the addition of blinkers.
