2nd pick: #2 (Give Me the Lute) (5-1) - A lightly raced home bred from Gary Barber, 3yo was forced extremely wide when the reins broke on 'Hit the Seam' here at this level and distance May 25. He has early speed, has worked twice since, and is a win candidate at a square price.
3rd pick: #6 (Fredrikstad) (2-1) - The morning line and probable favorite, he had some traffic issues when missing by a 1/2 length when debuting May 25. 4yo was in front of the troubled pair of 'Hit the Seam' and 'Give Me the Lute' and is a win candidate, but he's likely to be over-bet.
4th pick: #7 (Twisted Plot) (12-1) - Longshot has fine early speed and is on the grass for the first time. Competitive in all three last summer at this level on the dirt, he tired while wide here May 18 in his first start in nine months. Think he's a threat at a big price.
5th pick: #10 (Master Ryan) (7-2) - Away slowly in his debut, he finished a 1/2 length behind 'Fredrikstad' while in front of both 'Hit the Seam' and 'Give Me the Lute'. Bred/owned/and trained by Phil D'Amato, he's worked fast for this, but his outside post is a negative. Gelding can factor if able to avoid a wide trip.
