Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #4 (SMART KNOWS SMART) (3-1) - He's shortening up in distance after missing by a 'nose' going a mile at this level Nov. 18 at Del Mar. It was his first off a private trainer change to Peter Miller and his first on the grass. Lightly raced colt gets a slight edge in this one.
2nd pick: #1 (Raven Creek) (5-2) - Competitive in each start, speed/stalker has gone 5-0-3-2, and he finished 2nd here at this level and distance in his first on the grass Oct. 26. Home bred should be involved every step.
3rd pick: #7 (Croissant) (8-1) - Price play has shown steady improvement and exits the same last race as 'Smart Knows Smart.' He pressed a solid pace before weakening late to check in 3.5 lengths in back of that rival. He draws outside of the other pace types here, and I think he'll be competitive at a square price.
