In her follow up at the same level going a mile Jan. 21, she raced evenly while having some traffic issues. Down in class and shortening up to five furlongs today, I give her a slight edge.
2nd pick: #1 (Appolina) (2-1) - Debuting filly by 'Fed Biz' sold for $130,000 as a 2yo in training last May. The buyer was Bob Baffert's wife Natalie, and he has the filly training steadily for her debut. He wins at a 53% rate first out, and this filly is an obvious win candidate.
3rd pick: #3 (La Purissima) (7-2) - Another making her first start, she's from a capable barn of John Sadler, and has worked here seven times since Jan. 11. In the mix.
