2nd pick: #5 (Rak City) (5-1) - A long time maiden, he ran evenly here without threatening for a $30K claiming price at this trip Jan. 12. He had finished second at Los Al in his previous race at this level and is a threat at a square price in a very weak field.
3rd pick: #4 (Sergio) (3-1) - A 5yo gelding, he tired while wide here at this tag going a mile Jan 5. It was his first since early Oct. of 2017 and he was claimed out of it by Steve Miyadi for the $20K asking price. Competitive facing tougher several times in the past, he gets a big lightly rider upgrade to Giovanni Franco.
