Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #3 (DONWORTH) (7-2) - I liked him last out when he was beaten a 1/2 length in the local San Antonio Stakes (G2) going nine furlongs. It was his first start in just over seven months and he was just a bit short. Working nicely since, he gets a slight edge in the 'Big Cap.'
2nd pick: #5 (Effinex) (2-1) - The probable favorite, he makes his west coast debut and is racing for the first time since late Nov. He's banked over $2M and won the rich G1 Clark Handicap last out at Churchill. He's won two of five at this demanding distance and is training fast. An obvious strong win candidate.
3rd pick: #8 (Imperative) (3-1) - Veteran missed by a 'nose' here in the G2 San Antonio Stakes Feb 6. It was his second big effort in a row and he's a threat at a square price.
4th pick: #4 (General A Rod) (4-1) - Gulfstream invader is capable of a very big effort when in the mood, but has never beaten this kind. However, his latest in Florida earned him a huge figure and a repeat of it would make him a threat.
