Bet down to heavy favoritism, she rallied to finish 2nd in a contest run in a very fast time (1:09.80). Training steadily for this attempt, the additional furlong she travels today is a plus. Very tough to beat.
2nd pick: #2 (Beauty N Balance) (9-2) - From the Baffert barn, daughter of 'Lookin At Lucky' raced evenly when debuting at this level and distance Dec. 19th at Los Alamitos. Working above average for this appearance, and it's noted that Bejarano gets aboard. He and Baffert win at a 25% clip when teamed up.
3rd pick: #3 (Escalante) (6-1) - Lasix is added to the field's most experienced maiden. he's finished 2nd once in three attempts on conventional dirt and is racing off a March 24 layoff. Can grab a share, but believe that's her ceiling.
4th pick: #5 (Sugary) (5-1) - Filly rallied to finish a non-threatening 3rd when debuting at Los Alamitos April 16. 3yo was off 'slowly' that day and should like the extra furlong she travels in this spot.
