Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #6 (SAVING SOPHIE) (3-1) - Lightly raced 4yo has finished second in three straight at this level and distance on the dirt. One-run type is back on the grass for the first time since debuting here May 10 and is a much better runner now. I like her chances.
2nd pick: #4 (Unicorn) (2-1) - One of two entered by Rich Baltas, she's been competitive in all four starts on the grass and has finished 2nd in three of those attempts. 4yo daughter of 'Bodemeister is training steadily for her first since Oct. 20 and is an obvious win candidate.
3rd pick: #7 (Vegas Palm) (7-2) - Mare finished fourth, 3 lengths in back of 'Saving Sophie' on the dirt at Los Alamitos Dec 6. Competitive in two of three on the grass prior to that, she fits and it's a plus that Flavien Prat stays aboard.
