Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #8 (GIA LULA) (4-1) - Filly has been competitive in four straight starts and is moving back out in the gate after a pair in which she had to be sent hard from inside posts. There's plenty of potential speed signed on for her to track and I give her a slight edge.
2nd pick: #4 (Whata Flirt) (9-2) - She enters off a career-best when she finished second at this level going 5 furlongs at Los Alamitos Race Course Dec 14. Speed/stalker was in front of three of today's rivals that afternoon and is an obvious contender.
3rd pick: #2 (Crackling Bread) (5-1) - This stalker has finished second in two of her last three and did so here facing weaker going 7 furlongs Dec. 31. She could have won that pair but came up a little 'short' in the final stages. In the mix.
4th pick: #6 (Encountress) (8-1) - The lightly raced filly has broken slowly in two of her three starts and that's a bad habit to try and shed. She did rally to finish third here Dec. 2, but was 7.5 lengths in back of 'Crackling Bread'. Can grab a share and an alert beginning would help her cause out.
