Top pick: #4 (FREERIDE) (2-1) - In a sure sign of spring just around the corner, all three of our selections in this dirt sprint are shipping fron Gulfstream Park and all three are coming out of grass races. This colt raced evenly in Florida when debuting at a mile on Feb. 14. He's worked fast since, has a local drill five days ago, and his trainer (Tony Dutrow) wins at a 33% rate second-time out.
2nd pick: #3 (City Walker) (7-2) - Pa.-bred son of "City Zip" chased while very wide after breaking from an outside post (11th of 11) in a 5-furlong grass sprint when debuting on Jan. 30. He has a new trainer today (Steve Klesaris 18% with new arrivals) and this 3-year-old has been working well since his first outing.
3rd pick: #1 (Gray Not Bay) (5-2) - Speedy sort set a solid and pressured pace before tiring going 8.5 furlongs on the Gulfstream infield on Feb. 9. Race was his first since Dec. 15 and he was based here last year before heading to Florida. Grey colt has a fine local work since coming north and he draws the rail.
