Top pick: #5 (THUNDER BASIN) (2-1) - Beautifully bred colt has finished second in three straight, the latest a "neck" defeat at Laurel on March 21 going a "flat" mile. Home-bred by "Unbridled's Song" had been sharp on this surface in his previous pair, and is the horse to beat.
2nd pick: #7 (Liceo Naval) (8-1) - Price play raced wide while never involved in an "off the turf" sprint when debuting at the Fair Grounds Feb. 13th. Colt by "Tiznow" has been working fast since and is in the barn of veteran Jimmy Toner. Look for an improved run.
3rd pick: #2 (The Morning Guys) (3-1) - He finished second in both starts last summer at Delaware Park, and will be racing for the first time since Aug. 17th. Son of "Birdstone" has a new trainer (Bob Reid Jr 21% with new arrivals), and he has this colt working fast locally for his return to action.
4th pick: #1 (Monkey's Medal) (7-2) - Laurel shipper has gone 3-0-1-1 in sprints, and will be attempting a two-turn distance for the first time. Stalker draws the rail and must be left in the mix.
