It was his second start back after spending 8.5 months on the sidelines, and his outside post will give rider Joe Talamo some early options.
2nd pick: #5 (Hidden Promise) (9-2) - He's shortening up in distance after tiring to finish 4th going a mile on a sloppy track for a $25K tag March 22. He's dropping back a bit to the $20K price John Sadler claimed him for Feb. 14 and is a strong win candidate at a square price.
3rd pick: #2 (Runtech) (5-1) - $90K yearling purchase has shown ability without threatening in three straight facing tougher, twice on the grass and once on the all-weather surface at Turfway Park. He's racing second back following almost a 6.5-month layoff, drops into a claimer for this one, and is on conventional dirt. In the mix.
4th pick: #3 (Time Heist) (6-1) - He raced evenly sprinting for a $30K tag on March 28. Trainer Paul Holthus brings him back in 13 days, drops him down, and I think he can factor with just a bit of improvement.
