2nd pick: #4 (Bitter Ring Home) (5-2) - Very lightly raced and well bred, he rallied to finish a distant 3rd at this tag and trip Nov. 16 at Del Mar. $160,000 gelding by 'Lemon Drop Kid' is clearly improving and is a win candidate.
3rd pick: #10 (Spend It) (7-2) - Long-time maiden is making start #23 in search of his first win. However, he's been competitive in seven of his last eight starts with most coming at this $20,000 claiming price. He's done some of his best work locally and he obviously likes the long stretch here.
4th pick: #9 (Sterling's Temple) (4-1) - Another who has been lightly raced, he runs first off a Genaro Vallejo claim and he's won with 8 of his last 21 (38%) with that angle. Working steadily for his first since Sept. 3, 3yo has blinkers on and must be left in the mix.
