A $575,000 yearling purchase, he's been competitive in both starts and enters off a 2nd place finish at Del Mar Aug. 31. Grey colt has worked twice since and Baffert adds blinkers, 11 of 22 (50%) with that move since Jan. 1 of 2018.
2nd pick: #7 (Raging Whiskey) (2-1) - Another that's adding blinkers, he's the field's most acomplished runner. Stakes place at Saratoga July 13, he then tired in his pair of follow ups at Del Mar. He draws a fine outside post and is a win candidate.
3rd pick: #3 (Tap Back) (4-1) - Cal bred won his debut Aug. 16 at Del Mar facing fellow state breds, then checked in third there in a stakes at the same level Aug. 30. He's facing 'open' company today, but it's not strong a field and his speed/stalking style is a plus.
