2nd pick: #3 (Exemplar) (5-2) - The probable favorite, he's stretching out in distance and is racing second back from a 7.5 month layoff. Four-year-old rallied strongly to miss by a 'neck' at this level going 6.5 furlongs at Del mar Aug 27. Barn brings him back quickly and gelding is an obvious threat.
3rd pick: #8 (Suavamente) (4-1) - Speedy sort tired to check in a distant third at this distance Aug 25 at Del Mar. He set a swift and pressured pace that day in his first ever beyond six furlongs. Dangerous in this spot for trainer Bob Diodoro ( two-for-two) at the meet.
4th pick: #2 (Unbridled Rocket) (7-2) - He rallied at Del Mar to finish a distant second Aug 25. He easily went by a weakening 'Suavamente' in the final furlong but received a favorable pace setup.
