Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #3 (MEISTERMIND) (5-2) - He tired badly facing much tougher at Del Mar July 28 in his first race in two months. In good form before the break, he takes a big drop in class and gets a slight edge.
2nd pick: #2 (Nileist) (3-1) - Wel bred 4yo has been sharp in both starts since returning from a 7 month layoff and a subsequent move to the West Coast. He missed by a neck of getting his maiden June 6 on the grass at Golden Gate Fields, then won here by a 'nose' at today's distance July 12. Training steadily and conservatively spotted, he's a strong win candidate.
3rd pick: #6 (King Charlie) (8-1) - 'Charlie' has more speed than most and is dropping a bit after tiring badly at Del mar Aug 18. His maiden win came here at this distance July 4 and he's a treat at a big price.
4th pick: #4 (Gryffindor) (7-2) - The type that can 'run all day', he ralied to finish second at this tag and trip Aug. 18 at Del Mar. He's capable of factoring, but will need a fast/and or contested pace for anything more than a small slice of this.
