Top pick: #3 (LUREGO) (3-1) - Grey colt had some serious traffic issues when finishing fourth here at this level & distance on July 29th. Encouraging effort came off an eight 1/2 month layoff, and trainer Chakie Lopresti brings him back quickly and has him making back-to-back starts for the first time.
2nd pick: #8 (Steponit) (5-1) - He ships in from Arlington, and is clearly the main speed. His best to date came there in his only previous turf race, and this colt by "Scat Daddy" is a win candidate.
3rd pick: #7 (West Malibu) (15-1) - Gelding raced wide and evenly here in a dirt sprint on Aug. 5 in his first start in eight months. That was a very talented field, and the McBride barn moves him back to the turf and stretches him out in distance.
4th pick: #2 (Delta Golf Alpha) (2-1) - No speed type has the best grass form of all entered, and last out rallied from far back to finish second here on July 29th. Obvious win candidate, but at a short price.
