Premium Pick

Top pick: #8 (TACHI) (5-2) - The probable favorite, colt by "Cowboy Cal" rallied up the inside to finish second of nine, beaten a 1/2 length when debuting here at this level going 5 furlongs July 29th. Good barn (Don Von Hemel) has worked him twice since at Churchill and the added furlong today is a big plus.

2nd pick: #11 (Rooster Country) (10-1) - Price play raced evenly from a tough post (11th of 12) when debuting here going 5 furlongs. Good barn (Tim Glyshaw) brings him back quickly and well-bred colt goes a bit farther this evening.

3rd pick: #4 (Sleep No More) (4-1) - Debuting colt is from the barn of the leading trainer here (Tom Amoss). $22K yearling purchase has been in steady training at both Ellis Park and Churchill and Amoss's main local rider (Leandro Goncalves) is aboard.

4th pick: #6 (Got Grit) (20-1) - Longshot raced evenly while finishing 4th of 10, beaten 11 1/2 lengths when debuting at Beulah Park facing "open" special weights on July 24th. Capable barn ships him here and rider Octavio Bernal comes along for the ride.

5th pick: #3 (Cat's in the Mood) (9-2) - He rallied while wide 7 in the clear to finish second here when debuting going 5 furlongs on Aug. 13. He draws a tough inside post in this large field and will need to avoid any traffic to factor.
