Top pick: #3 (SIMPLY CARINA) - Grey filly by "El Prado" cost $825K, but has certainly been a disappointment. She was competitive last year in New York in some pretty tough fields and runs today off a solid work tab and for a new trainer (Neil Drysdale). Can win this at a nice price.
2nd pick: #7 (Nereid) - She rallied from far back in her debut last Oct. on the main track here to finish to the talented "Zazu", who finished third yesterday in the Kentucky Oaks (G1) at Churchill Downs. Training fast, she'll stretch-out in distance and move to the grass.
3rd pick: #5 (Izshelegal) - Strong finisher started her career by finishing second in a stakes on this surface and all five starts last year at age two came at that level. Working very fast for her first start since Nov. 5, she'll be trying the grass for the first time. Daughter of "Maria's Mon" is a major force as she runs against fellow maidens today.
