Top pick: #1 (METEORE) - Veteran stakes performer has run well in his three starts this year after coming back from a 7 month layoff in June. Son of "Pulpit" finished a close-up 2nd last out at Del Mar in a Grade 2 turf stakes and is working nicely for this attempt. Colt is in the Rick Mandella barn, has Bejaraon aloft, and should get a fast pace to rally into if all go. Can win this at a nice price.
2nd pick: #6 (Tropic Storm) - Talented but fragile runner scored last out at Del Mar on the main-track in a small stakes in his 2nd back off almost a two year absence in a very strong performance. Working fast for this, he'll be very tough in this spot.
3rd pick: #7 (Liberian Freighter) - Speed/stalker will need to rate in this spot with the main speeds drawn inside of him. Loves this turf course (5-3-0-1) and continues to train sharply for the barn of Neil Drysdale. Must be left in the mix.
