Top pick: #6 (SMART MANEUVER ) - Well-bred and lightly raced he was claimed in late June and returned 4 1/2 month later in good form. Trainer Bob Barbara will switch him back to the infield today and this gelding ran well on the grass last winter/spring. Can win this at a nice price.
2nd pick: #12 (Giarixa ) - Improved effort and speed were on view last out at Tampa when this colt dropped into a claimer and was switched to the grass. Draws a tough post, but his speed should help him over-come it.
3rd pick: #5 (Hybrid) - He's been racing evenly since he came to the races and the McPeek barn drops him slightly and switches him back to the turf. He can factor for the win with an alert start.
4th pick: #7 (Treasure Trip) - Veteran maiden has finished second or third in seven of his 12 starts with six of those coming on the turf. Has tactical speed and should be a square price.
