(# 8) The Cuban Hawk - Liked him last time but unfortunately race was washed off the turf on to the main track. Colt had trained up to that start very well at Palm Meadows Training Center. Actually acquitted himself fairly well in the dirt race, as he was within two or three lengths of the lead in swiftly run race, to tire a bit late. Valuable conditioning could have been picked up in that race, and Hushion runner has worked twice since for return to grass. Race has a lot of question marks, but this horse should run a big race today, especially with the addition of blinkers.

(# 5) Mantle - Logical selection and the logical favorite. Ran a big second place in last race over Gulfstream lawn in first race in seven months. Numbers earned in that race tower over most in here, with our top pick right behind him. The only reason we didn't put him as our first selection is the anticipated short price. Trio of solid works since only add to his total package.

(# 1) Maddy's Crowd - Ran a good third in the same off the turf race as our top pick. Draws the hedge and owns some speed and appears to be a tractable sort. Trainer is cold and this runner has been that at the betting windows.

(# 4) Rising Moon - Runner makes third lifetime start, one each in the previous two racing years. Bet in both previous starts, attracts Prado, working swiftly for Roberto Calvo (8-2-2-1) at this meeting. Not easy but not impossible to win going long off of a fourteen month layoff.
