It was his first start in 2.5 months, and he is switching to the dirt for this attempt. 4yo has a good local record (8-1-3-0) on the main track, and Luis Saez is getting aboard.
2nd pick: #11 (C'era Una Volta) (8-1) - Longshot has been competitive in three of four at this level since off almost a six-month layoff Aug. 10. Speed/stalker drops seven pounds with apprentice Burgos getting aboard, and this 4yo's outside post will give him some early options.
3rd pick: #4 (Gran Causeway) (9-2) - Lightly raced and well bred, this son of 'Giant's Causeway' finished 2nd at this tag going 6.5 furlongs Nov. 16. He's gone 3-1-2-0 since coming off a 2.5-month freshening Sept. 7 and looms dangerous today at a short price.
4th pick: #6 (Steadily) (6-1) - Nicely bred 3yo was a very sharp maiden winner going seven furlongs for a $12.5K tag in an 'off the turf' contest Nov. 16. He earned a solid figure, has room for upside, and must be left in the mix.
5th pick: #5 (Reagan's Heart) (20-1) - Nibbler checked in a distant 3rd last out while five lengths behind 'Gran Causeway.' One run type may get a minor award at a big price to complete the tri and/or super.
