2nd pick: #8 (Salsa Rita) (3-1) - The probable favorite, she rallied from close range to miss by a 'head' here at this tag and trip Dec. 24. By far a career best, it came off an eight week break and earned her the highest figure any of these has reached so far. An obvious contender.
3rd pick: #6 (Total Treasure) (9-2) - Filly tried hard last out when finishing second at this level going 6.5 furlongs Dec. 30. She chased a well meant first-time starter all the way and held gamely for the place to that eventual winner. Must be left in the mix.
4th pick: #2 (Lady Kantharos) (8-1) - She chased and tired in a grass sprint Jan. 1 when racing for a $20K tag. Only her second start, it was a nice move forward off her dirt debut Dec. 7. Barn brings her back quickly, drops her down, moves her back to the dirt, and Tyler Gaffalione is back on the re-ride. May grab a share at a big price.
