The trainer/jockey combo wins at a 30% rate when teamed up.
2nd pick: #4 (Deneb) (4-1) - Lightly raced 4yo is facing winners for the first time. Strong finisher rallied from far back to win by 1.5 lengths here Jan. 1 going 7.5 furlongs for a $20K claiming price. Nicely spotted here, and Javier Castellano is getting aboard.
3rd pick: #2 (Gran Chief) (7-2) - Well bred colt closed strongly to miss by 2.5 lengths here at this level going 7.5 furlongs Jan. 4. He had a tough outside post, draws much better, and must be left in the mix.
