It was his first since Sept. 30 and his first off a private sale and a trainer change to Tony Margotta Jr. Barn stretches him out to a mile and he meets a very weak looking group.
2nd pick: #10 (Wine At the Beach) (5-1) - A speedy Florida bred gelding, he tired while wide at this tag and trip Jan. 23. The 3yo had to be rushed from the gate and the pace was quick for the level. The main speed on paper, he's a win candidate at a square price.
3rd pick: #1 (Jet Rink) (15-1) - On the sidelines since Nov. 22, he tired that day after rushing up following a bumping incident at the break. It was a useful debut in a dirt sprint and today he stretches out in distance while switching to the turf.
4th pick: #6 (In Gus We Trust) (20-1) - Longshot hasn't shown much so far, but his best to date came here Jan. 21 in his only previous attempt on the grass. It's possible that with a bit of improvement off that start he could land a share at a huge price.
