Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #2 (NOBLE INDY) (7-2) - One of two entered by trainer Todd Pletcher and the pair race uncoupled. Colt finished a close up third here in the G2 Risen Star Stakes Feb. 17 in a contest where he was bumped hard at the break. A winner of his two prior to that, speed/stalker has been working fast for this attempt, has a good inside post, and John Velazquez stays aboard.
2nd pick: #1 (Bravazo) (5-1) - A winner of three-of-seven overall, Calumet home bred won the local Risen Star Stakes (G2) by a 'nose' here Feb. 17. He over-came a wide trip to do so and earned a career best figure. Colt has the rail and is a win candidate at a square price.
3rd pick: #7 (Snapper Sinclair) (9-2) - Colt has fine early speed and was only a 'nose' in back of 'Bravazo' while two in front of 'Noble Indy' last out. He's clearly improving and trainer Steve Asmussen brings in Jose Ortiz for the mount.
4th pick: #9 (My Boy Jack) (3-1) - He's a very strong finisher and ships from Oaklawn where he was an easy winner Feb. 19 in the G3 Southwest Stakes. He had a perfect trip and seemed to relish the muddy surface that afternoon and this nine furlong trip is no problem for this 'long winded' 3-year-old.
