Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #8 (STORM TEMPLE PILOT) (2-1) - The probable favorite, speedy filly has been sharp in both turf sprints and faced tougher field in each of those starts at the Fair Grounds. She draws a nice outside post and gets a slight edge in today's opener.
2nd pick: #5 (Picante Caliente) (7-2) - Daughter of a good turf sire 'El Corredor,' she's finished second in four of her seven starts. In her only previous race on the grass, she chased and held down the place spot racing at this level and distance March 17 at the Fair Grounds. It was by far a career best and the horse that defeated her came right back to score again next out. Win candidate.
3rd pick: #7 (Already Dancing) (6-1) - Lightly-raced filly has some speed and is racing on the grass and is making back-to-back starts, both for the first time. She was 9.5 lengths behind 'Picante Caliente' on the local dirt April 6, but should narrow that gap considerably in this grass sprint.
4th pick: #1 (Bella Capelli) (12-1) - The field's only first-time starter, she worked a bullet half-mile from the gate here on the morning of April 9. Home bred has the rail and could factor at a big price if she runs back to that breeze.
