Top pick: #7 (PRIZES INCLUDED) - Lightly-raced gelding was away from action for 7 1/2 months and finished an even third last out facing maiden special weights. The field was small (5) and the result was probably better then it was. Still was a nice return effort and his connections will drop this home-bred into a claimer this afternoon. Draws a good outside post and has an excellent chance at upsetting the favorite.
2nd pick: #1 (Rail Bender) - The probable heavy favorite finished second June 24 at Penn National when making his debut and colt showed plenty of early speed in that contest. Good barn (Mike Stidham) has given him almost six weeks to recover and son of "Silver Train" has a nice work here six days ago. Has the rail, the best early speed and will be tough to beat.
3rd pick: #2 (Moises) - Debuting gelding is in a very good barn (Dale Capuano) and is working steadily at Laurel for his first outing. Nice 6 furlong work there July 13 suggest that he has some ability.
