Premium Pick

Top pick: #1 (BAROCCI) (9-2) - Japanese import has only been sub-par once in nine starts since coming here from France in the spring of 2012. He ran a big race two back when checking in third to "Obviously" in the (G2) "American" stakes, then was a nice looking winner over a solid field in his latest. Has the rail, good tactical speed, and I like his chances.

2nd pick: #2 (Sofast) (5-1) - French-bred colt had some quality starts in his native country, and as a 2yo, was beaten under a length in the Group 1 "Grand Criterium" stakes, France's most important 2yo race. Strong factor if ready for his North American debut.

3rd pick: #9 (Lucayan) (3-1) - Another French import, he was a Group 1 winner in May of 2012, and finished second in his North American debut on May 25th. He tired last out after racing close up to "Obviously," and is better suited to rating and making one run.

4th pick: #10 (Vagabond Shoes) (12-1) - He's been freshened up since May 25th, and this Irish-bred veteran has been all over the world in his 24 race career. Can grab a share at a big price, but would need a career best to win this.

5th pick: #3 (Fed Biz) (15-1) - Longshot has more early speed than most, and has run well in both previous grass appearances. Colt by "Giant's Causeway" should be involved most of the way.
