Strong finisher had gone 2-1-1-0 on the dirt prior to that and has been working fast here since July 20. She has a ground-saving post and believe she has a bright future.
2nd pick: #5 (Utana) (5-1) - Four-year-old by 'Curlin' is facing winners for the first time. She broke her maiden at this distance June 30 at Santa Anita and has been sharp in all four appearances to date. A sharp half-mile work here Aug. 3 suggests she'll run well at a square price.
3rd pick: #3 (Reiki Baby) (9-2) - Another daughter of 'Curlin' she's stretching out around two turns for the first time. Four-year-old won her debut going seven furlongs at Santa Anita June 11, then finished second at this level in a sprint at Los Alamitos. Must be left in the mix.
4th pick: #8 (That's A Lady) (3-1) - No-speed type draw a tough outside post for her stretch running style. Capable 4-year-old has been working fast here for her first start since June 25. A fast and/or contested pace would help her chances out.
