Top pick: #4 (BATTLE OF HASTINGS) - English-import has really improved a lot since his U.S. debut at Hollywood last November. Very strong finisher has won his last pair (both G2) and is working sharply on the local infield for his first race since July 18. Faces some tough runners today, but I believe he'll run them down late.
2nd pick: #3 (Meteore) - Another strong finisher, this one from the barn of Richard Mandella. Has a stakes win on this course last out and is clearly still improving. Major player.
3rd pick: #6 (Afleet Eagle) - Very lightly raced and speedy, he won a stakes here early in the meet and did so with ease. Training fast for this, he's the main-speed in a race without a lot of pace on paper. Don't dismiss.
