Speedy 5-year-old set a quick and pressured pace before weakening late to finish a close up fourth facing tougher going 6.5 furlongs at Santa Anita Oct. 13. Nicely spotted as she drops down and that return sprint sets her up for a big effort.
2nd pick: #8 (Miss Boom Boom) (3-1) - Stalker just missed facing tougher going a mile here Aug. 25. Very consistent sort should get a solid pace to track and she's a win candidate in this spot.
3rd pick: #10 (Speak Up Sailor) (6-1) - On the sidelines since July 26, mare is racing first off a Ron Ellis claim. She seems best when stalking and 5-year-old has a fine record at this distance 10-2-4-3. Can factor if able to avoid a wide trip.
4th pick: #13 (Del Mar Ann) (5-1) - Another speed/stalker, she draws a very tough post this afternoon. Canadian bred fits at the tag and trip but will need a very 'heady' ride by Corey Nakatani for any shot at the top prize.
