2nd pick: #5 (Miss Ava's Union) (7-2) - A $200K filly by 'Union Rags', she finished second when debuting at this level and distance Dec. 30. Sent in for a three month break, she tired while wide in her return there under similar conditions March 30. 3yo has been working fast and is reunited with Joel Rosario, who was abord in her initial attempt.
3rd pick: #3 (Sunny Dale) (4-1) - She's shortening up in distance after a fourth place finish at this level going a mile June 9 at Santa Anita. $100K purchase is in a dirt sprint for the first time, is working fast at Los Al, and think she's a contender in this spot.
4th pick: #1 (Shocking Fast) (4-1) - The second of the Baffert trained pair, she raced wide when finishing an even and non-threatening third when debuting at this level and distance July 4 at Los Al. Baffert wins at a 24% rate second-time out and this home bred by 'Distorted Humor' should factor with normal second out improvement.
