Top pick: #3 (SIR CAL) (5-2) - The probable favorite, he enters off a second-place finish here at this level and distance Aug 16. Solid effort was a career best overall and he did not have the smoothest of trips. Gets the edge, but make sure you reverse your exactas for a few dollars.
2nd pick: #2 (Heat) (7-2) - Lightly-raced home bred missed by less than a length when debuting going 6.5-furlongs on the Santa Anita turf June 17. He had a poor start and a wide trip here at this trip July 22 and is a strong factor today with a clean getaway.
3rd pick: #9 (Ace Deuce) (8-1) - Speed/stalker has been competitive several times facing tougher fields than this. He was only 2-lengths behind 'Sir Cal' last out and will be a much bigger price.
4th pick: #1 (Nooten) (12-1) - He's going dirt to turf and stretching out in distance for his second back off a pair of layoffs. Has the rail and he's been competitive in 2-of-4 on the grass in the past.
