Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #7 (IRISH TERRIER) (5-2) - One run type has finished 2nd in three straight at this level and did so here going six furlongs Aug. 11. Barber home bred earned a career best figure that afternoon in his first racing without blinkers. Gelding gets a slim edge.
2nd pick: #8 (Concord Jet) (7-2) - NEW gelding has shown good early speed in a pair facing tougher and will be dropping into a claimer for the first time. He worked fast Aug. 19, and his trainer (Brian Koriner) is having a solid meet (eight for 33, 24%).
3rd pick: #6 (U S Lawman) (8-1) - Another NEW gelding, he tired here following a troubled break when debuting here at this level and distance July 26. Trainer Andy Mathis (21% second time out) adds blinkers (35%), and I look for a much better effort today by this longshot.
4th pick: #4 (Unplayable) (5-1) - Home bred raced near the pace while wide and held gamely to finish 4th of nine, beaten 3.5 lengths when debuting here Aug. 9. A normal second out improvement makes him a threat.
