Top pick: #6 (WILDCAT CANDY) (3-1) - He rallied to finish second here on July 17th after breaking from a tough outside post (12th of 12) going 6 furlongs. Race was his first in almost 16 months and he ran off before the break. Four-year-old has worked since, is making back-to-back starts for the first time, and Bejarano stays put.

nd pick: #8 (Cinco de Mario) (7-2) - Speedy gelding just failed to hold on here going a mile on the grass July 12th at Hollywood. The race was his first in seven months and he's working fast since. Goes turf to "poly," cuts back in distance, and is a strong win candidate.

rd pick: #11 (Big Macher) (10-1) - Well-backed when debuting here for $20K on July 17th, colt was away slowly and improved a bit late. Claimed that day by Rick Baltas, he's worked him twice since and moves him up a bit in price. Longshot runs for a trainer who has won with two of his last six fresh off the claim.

th pick: #7 (In Excessiveness) (12-1) - Colt showed some early speed before tiring facing Cal.-bred special weights here on July 17th. Trainer Don Warren has worked him three times since, drops him in class, and has the recently returned Pat Valenzuela replacing Carreno.

th pick: #5 (Milk Man Ray) (10-1) - He's had a lot of chances, but generally makes a stretch run and last out finished second here at this distance on July 20th. In shape, and a player at a square price.
