Claimed that afternoon by John Ortiz (18% angle), he moves her up a bit to $7,500 and has her cutting back to a one-turn mile. I like her chances today.
2nd pick: #7 (Katie the Cutie) (5-1) - Veteran mare drops down following a pair of even efforts for a $10,000 price tag. She won at this $7,500 level going a mile in Ohio Sept. 29 and has some back class to call upon. A stretch threat.
3rd pick: #3 (Sunrise Countessa) (8-1) - No speed type ships in from Mountaineer Park where she missed by just under a length at this distance facing low-level ($4,000) starter-allowance foes Oct. 8. This is her favorite trip (13-3-2-4), and she should be finishing fast.
4th pick: #2 (See the Bird) (10-1) - Mare rallied from well back to check in 3rd, four lengths behind 'Native Wahoo' here Oct. 31. 5yo will need a fast and/or contested pace for anything more than a minor award.
