She rallied to miss by less than a length April 6 at Oaklawn facing similar types and she was competitive here last year in her only previous local start. Gets a slight edge.
2nd pick: #7 (American Cleopatra) (2-1) - Zayat home bred has been training very fast at Santa Anita for her first start since Oct 1. Sharp in both previous sprints including a second place finish in the Del Mar Debutante (G1), she's from the barn of Bob Baffert and is a very strong win candidate. I could have easily made her the top pick and she should be viewed as the equal of 'Friend of Liberty'.
3rd pick: #1 (Ministry) (8-1) - Arkansas bred ships from Oaklawn Park where she won a $100K stakes for state breds April 1. Stalker has the rail and a sharp local work April 21.
