Top pick: #4 (SWEET RED CAT) (2-1) - She was scratched the other day by trainer John Sadler out of a stakes to await this softer spot. Very strong finisher is (5-1-2-1) on the turf and on April 6th at Santa anita she rallied to finish third of 10, beaten just uner three lengths in the "Providencia" stakes (G3). She's worked four times since and is the "class" of this small gathering.
2nd pick: #2 (Macha) (5-2) - From the Hollendorfer barn, filly has finished third in both her grass starts and on March 21st at Santa Anita she was only 3/4's of a length back of "Sweet Red Cat." She's been working fast since, presumably with the blinkers that she wears in "live" action for the first time.
3rd pick: #1 (Fine Assay) (5-1) - Home-bred takes on winners after a maiden win at Santa Anita on April 21st in her first ever on the turf. Lightly-raced and still improving, she'll need to move forward quite a bit to challenge the top two selections.
4th pick: #6 (Somethingabouther) (10-1) - Freshened up since Feb. 1, daughter of "War Chant" has a speed/stalking style and has finished close up several times facing stakes competition. Can factor if ready with her best off a 3 1/2 month layoff.
