Top pick: #7 (COTTON'S POINT) (4-1) - Filly by "Salt Lake" hasn't raced since finishing third in the $250K "Cal Cup Juvenile Fillies" going 8.5 furlongs on the Santa Anita dirt on Oct. 13. She'd finished second at this level in three straight prior to that and is wrking fast for her new trainer (Jerry Hollendorfer 22% with new arrivals). This will be her first on the grass, a surface she was bred to like.
2nd pick: #11 (Angel's Moon) (6-1) - Very fast from the gate, mare set/pressed a quick pace and held to finish third at this level in a switched contest at Santa Anita on Dec. 29 and hasn't run since. Headley home-bred has done well on this course in the past (3-0-1-1) and is working fine for her return to action.
3rd pick: #10 (Classic Candy) (12-1) - Longshot is lightly raced and has taken some money in all three appearances. Daughter of "Candy Ride" has some speed and is working very fast for her first since April 14th.
4th pick: #2 (Keldy) (4-1) - She was much improved in her second start when trainer Dan Hendricks moved her to the turf. Filly rallied to finish third in a contest dominated by the first two finishers. 3-year-old breaks from the rail and will need to avoid any traffic in this big field.
5th pick: #12 (Lucky Student) (15-1) - Speed/stalker moves back to the grass after tiring on May 12th here racing on the all weather. Can factor at long odds, but others seem more likely to win this.
