Top pick: #1 (ROCKABYE LADY) (8-5) - Daughter of "Rock Hard Ten" is one of two entered by the barn of Bob Baffert, and give the "Hall of Famer" a strong hand in this afternoon's opener. Debuting filly is working very fast locally and has a half-dozen published drills since early June.
2nd pick: #6 (Illicit Affair) (4-1) - The second of the Baffert fillies has been freshened-up since a pair of starts during the spring on the Santa Anita dirt. She caught a pair of very good runners ("Zia Zia Zia" & "Ondine") in those two outings and is working fine for her return. This will be her first on a synthetic surface.
3rd pick: #4 (Burns Turn) (2-1) - Strong finisher rallied to finish second here at this level going seven furlongs. She had a slow start that day and was forced to race wide turning for home. Very playable.
4th pick: #5 (Tiz Vegas) (10-1) - Debuting daughter of "Tiznow" has been in steady training at Santa Anita since March 31st, and home-bred may grab a minor award at a big price.
