(# 1) BIG WIG - First two-year-old maiden turf race of the season is on view. This Pletcher colt by A.P. Indy out of a Rahy mare should take to the infield game just fine. Initial race at 5.5 furlongs on dirt came from an outside post, and it had the looks of an educational run as colt was not pushed hard when out of range on the turn. Since he comes back so quickly, I believe this race was the target all along.

(# 2) Roadster - By fine grass sire Street Cry, this horse has already been gelded. He debuts with Lasix for the Bill Mott barn, and the works at Saratoga over the training track are better than they appear, given the deepness of the track there at this stage of the year.

(# 7) Riptide - Sire (Incurable Optimist) gets better grass runners than dirt performers. He's been in training for Dave Donk since early May, and he could be dangerous.

(# 6) Fiumes - Took a lot of money in dirt debut, broke behind several speed types, was pushed hard after the half, but couldn't make up any ground. Barn (Ward) is very strong second out and would look for much better effort today.
