He set a quick pace that afternoon and can win this on the front end.
2nd pick: #3 (Noble Emotion) (7-2) - He raced evenly when beaten just under 3 lengths debuting on the Saratoga turf going 8.5 furlongs Aug. 16. Trainer Jon Thomas wins at a strong 29% rate second time out and at an excellent 34% clip in grass sprints. An obvious win candidate with Castellano staying aboard.
3rd pick: #1 (Lorenzen) (8-1) - Longshot switches to the grass after tiring in his dirt debuting at Saratoga Aug. 28. He was reported at the Spa to have ability and the switch to the turf may make him a threat at a square price.
4th pick: #11 (Shandian) (10-1) - He has early speed. and experience edge on most, and his outside post is a plus for his style. Colt can't be eliminated at a big price.
