He over-came a tough inside post that afternoon and is stretching out in distance for veteran Tom Bush. Gelding retains the services of Javier Castellano and I like this one's chances.
2nd pick: #6 (Constitutional Pal) (12-1) - Colt ships up from Monmouth where he raced evenly after being bumped at the break debuting in a dirt sprint facing 'open' company Aug. 24. The capable barn of Jan Cibelli moves him to the turf, stretches him out in distance, and has him in with fellow state breds for this attempt. A very fast half-mile work Sept. 8 suggests he's ready to be competitive at a big price.
3rd pick: #1a (Justintimeforwine) (20-1) - Longshot showed good early speed before tiring in a Saratoga grass sprint Aug. 1. It was a useful effort and his only race in four starts that was on the turf. He's worked here three times here this month and think he'll run well at a very big price.
4th pick: #5 (Like You) (9-2) - Colt tired after racing close up to finish a distant second in a 7-furlong contest at Saratoga that was taken 'off the turf' and run on a very sloppy main track Aug. 21. It was a good first attempt and he should be competitive this afternoon in his first on the grass.
