Bred in England, 3yo makes his debut off a long series of works at the Palm Meadows Center in Florida. Brown wins at a 20% rate first out and at a 29% clip when riding Joel Rosario. I give this one a small edge.
2nd pick: #5 (Downside Risk) (8-5) - The morning line and probable favorite, he finished second in both starts earlier this year at Gulfstream Park. He earned high figures, worked well here April 22, and Jose Ortiz stays aboard. An obvious win candidate and I could have easily made him the top selection.
3rd pick: #10 (Overbold) (8-1) - Longshot has made three starts at this level and Gulfstream and had serious excuses in two of those. The one time he had a clean break and trip, he finished a pace-setting third. Think he'll run well at a square price.
4th pick: #7 (Dillon Rocks) (10-1) - Another longshot, he raced evenly while wide when finishing fourth at Aqueduct April 7. By far a career best, it was his first on the grass and a positive attempt. Colt is capable of factoring at a big price.
