Top pick: #5 (SANDY'Z SLEW) - Nice debut at Saratoga saw him press a fast pace, take a short lead in mid-stretch, and stay on gamely to finish second, beaten a 1/2 length. Gelding has come back with a sharp work since and should like this mile trip.
2nd pick: #4 (Leilani's Ticket) - Well-backed in his debut going two-turns on the Saratoga turf Aug. 20, he ran well to finish fourth despite being "bumped" at the start. Goes turf to dirt for a very strong second-out barn (Dom Galluscio 32%). Dangerous, and I almost put him on top.
3rd pick: #7 (Son of Aspen) - Longshot is the type that can "run all day", and he's another going turf to dirt for this attempt. Price play from well off the pace.
