Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #3 (MATZO BELLA) (8-5) - She's moving back up in class and in with fellow state breds after tiring in an 'off the turf' sprint July 17 at Saratoga facing 'open' $30,000 claimers. Daughter of 'Gio Ponti' missed by a 'head' here at this level and distance in her previous start June 1. Very sharp in three straight grass sprints, this filly will be tough in this spot.
2nd pick: #1 (Beaux Arts) (4-1) - Veteran broke her maiden back in 2017 at Saratoga and has finished 2nd seven times in 11 starts on the grass since then. Filly has the rail, a speed/stalking style, and should be involved every step.
3rd pick: #6 (Tradeable) (10-1) - No speed type began her career at Saratoga back in 2018 with a pair of sharp efforts, but has never fulfilled the promise she showed at that time. Longshot is capable of getting a share, but will need to step it up considerably for anything more than a small slice of this.
4th pick: #7 (Andarta) (5-1) - Lightly raced and speedy, she set a pressured pace before weakening to finish 4th at this level going 5.5 furlongs at Saratoga Aug. 5. It was her first back following a pair of layoffs and her early speed makes her dangerous at a square price.
