Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #9 (THE LAST ZIP) (7-2) - A gelding by 'City Zip', he's finished second in three straight at this level and did so here going 8.5 furlongs May 19. He has a speed/stalking style, draws a fine outside post for this mile trip, and I give him a slight edge.
2nd pick: #4 (Doswell) (8-5) - The morning line and probable favorite, he's one of two entered by Chad Brown and the pair race uncoupled. Freshened up since Jan. 6, the 4yo missed by just under a length that day at Gulfstream Park. Only his second start, it was his first since debuting at Newmarket in England July 14 of 2017. Working fast at Saratoga, gelding by 'Giant's Causeway' is an obvious win candidate and I could have easily made him the top selection.
3rd pick: #5 (Taamer) (6-1) - A Shadwell home bred by 'Distorted Humor', he raced evenly when finishing fourth of nine, beaten almost 9 lengths debuting here at this level going 7 furlongs May 9. Race was run in fast time (1:22 flat) and trainer Kiaran McLaughlin (25% second time out) sends him an additional furlong.
4th pick: #3 (Noble Spirit) (12-1) - Away from action since last summer, he showed some ability in both starts at Saratoga. A NEW gelding, he ships from the Spa where he's breezed four times since May 23. Canadian bred may grab a share at a big price if ready.
